Surrounding Areas
Lisbon- very close by car or bus from our accomodation, you can take a day trip easily and explore this beautiful city. Lisbon has a lot to offer for all kinds of tourists: monuments, great panoramic views, modern areas, art galleries, food and wine. You have plenty of choice for food but go to Belém and have at least a few pasteis de nata.
Sintra, Cabo Da Roca - two different beautiful spots that can be visited in a day trip from our accomodation, Sintra with its beautiful castle, palaces and parks as well as Cabo da Roca, a great lighthouse on a cliff on the Atlantic Ocean. Typical of Sintra, the popular Travesseiro, which should not be missed for your breakfast or afternoon snack!
Mafra- only 10 minutes away from our accomodation, Mafra is home to the Convento de Mafra, a very important for the Palace, the Basilica and the world famous library.
It's well worth a visit and after this you may also want to go for a walk in the green Tapada de Mafra, a national park full of flora and fauna typical of Portugal.
Nazaré- is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Silver Coast/Costa de Prata, Portugal. This place is home to some of the biggest waves in the world, either that you are a surfer or not, it is simply majestic to have a look on these big waves from the Farol (lighthouse).
if you are around Nazaré you may also want to have a look at this Sanctuary of Fatima. It is quite popular throughout Europe and many people travel here, it is on the mountains near the town of Ourem, about 1 h drive.
